Press Release: The Connections Project signs VIVA Pediatrics as 2011 cover sponsor in Dallas, TX! VIVA Pediatrics steps up into a leadership role in the Special Care Community after just two years in business! Dallas, TX, June 14, 2011: At 1 p.m. VIVA Pediatrics officially became the cover sponsor for the Connections Project in 2011. VIVA Pediatrics is located at 8150 N. Central Expressway, Suite 780 in Dallas, Texas. VIVA Pediatrics opened on May 1, 2009 to provide nursing services to medically fragile children. Erica Colmenero RN, BSN and co-owner of VIVA Pediatrics said, “I have always loved kids and so becoming a nurse in 2003 was exciting, but starting VIVA Pediatrics in 2009 seemed like a perfect evolution of my passion for kids and my skill set.” When asked what the deciding factor was for this major step into leadership Efrem Colmenero, president of VIVA Pediatrics had this to say; “Our daughter, Lexi, was born very early in July 2009 at 26 weeks. Lexi was in the Baylor NICU for 4 months due to her extreme prematurity and weight of 1 pound, 5 ounces. Through that experience, Erica and I came to understand some of the struggles our families go through when juggling therapies, multiple services, and/or DME supplies in their home as well as keeping up with the multiple physician appointments. This experience has helped us focus on the important things for our families, patient care and caregiver support. Our decision to be the cover sponsor of the Connections Project is just a reflection of that focus.” Lamarque Polvado, executive director of the Connections Project commented; “This is a true leadership decision. Many companies claim to care about the Special Care Community, but not many of them sponsor over 10,000 copies of free information for Caregivers in their area. Connections has over 100 partners in the Dallas area who have taken a pledge to support free information and we have more companies making the decision to become a partner every day. It is an exciting time for our project!” For More Information please contact:
